City plotting summer bid for powerful forward.
One of the brightest lights in a particularly dreary season for Aston Villa, Christian Benteke, looks set to leave the club in the summer, with Manchester City one of the sides vying for his signature.

The Sunday People reports that a £20 million bid is being lined up for the striker, who has scored ten goals in 22 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Manchester City’s attacking force has looked noticeably weaker in the past few days, with Carlos Tevez’s future still far from certain, especially after the Argentine missed Saturday’s shock defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s.
Mario Balotelli has only just be shown exit at the Etihad, while Edin Dzeko is rumoured to be attracting interest from a number of European clubs.
Benteke, who arrived in the Midlands following an estimated £9m deal from Genk in the summer, is potentially the answer for providing a physical presence up-front for the Citizens if Dzeko does eventually leave.
While City have been long linked with a move for Napoli sensation Edinson Cavani, Benteke could prove to be a much cheaper option than the Uruguayan hitman.
Despite Villa languishing in the relegation zone of the Barclay’s Premier League, Benteke has proved good value for Paul Lambert’s team, particularly impressing with a brace against Liverpool in December.
