Blues are keen to add more firepower to their attack next season.
Mega-rich Premier League outfit Manchester City have now entered the race to sign coveted Borussia Dortmund front man Robert Lewandowski, according to reports in the Sun on Sunday.
The prolific Poland international has been the subject of intense speculation of late linking the striker with a big-money move away from his Bundesliga employers for some time now after a wonderful season in front of goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side, although it had been assumed that Lewandowski would be joining either Bayern Munich or Manchester United.
The 24-year-old managed to find the back of the net for Dortmund on 36 occasions in just 48 appearances in all competitions in the previous campaign, including 24 strikes in just 31 league contests as the Germans finished as runners-up in the Bundesliga and in the Uefa Champions League as well.
However, now City have reportedly also joined the race to sign the forward this summer for £25.5 million, with a decision on the player’s future expected shortly.
