Wide man is set to remain in Germany now next season after all.
Manchester City have been dealt a huge blow after Bayern Munich midfield player Arjen Robben confirmed that he would be seeing out his contract with the Bavarian giants, says the Guardian.
The big-spending Premier League outfit had been hoping to lure the Netherlands international to Eastlands at the end of this season.
However, the 29-year-old has now come out to distance himself from a move to the English top flight this summer, instead stating that he will see out the remaining two years that he has left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena.
“There are always so many rumours,” Robben said. “I’ve already said I’m just concentrating on Bayern and nothing more. We want to win the title on the 25th and that’s the only thing that matters for me.”
Robben has been with the Bundesliga giants for four years now, having arrived in Germany from Real Madrid for 25 million euros, and in the intervening period the winger has been a huge success with Bayern.
In total, Robben has featured in 118 matches for Munich since 2009, scoring an impressive 66 goals along the way.
