Los Blancos expect to confirm player’s capture shortly now that Ancelotti is in place.
Real Madrid appear to have beaten Manchester City to the signature of coveted Malaga midfield player Isco, according to reports in the Daily Star.
Both European heavyweights have been keeping close tabs on the Spain international for some time now with a view to signing the 21-year-old when the summer transfer window reopens for business on July 1.
However, it had been expected that the attacking midfield player would follow his mentor, Manuel Pellegrini, from southern Spain to Manchester following the Chilean’s appointment in the Eastlands hot seat earlier this month.
That, though, does not now seem to be the case, with new los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti set to bring Isco, who shone for his country during the recent European Under-21 championship in Israel, to the Santiago Bernabeu for £25 million as his first piece of transfer business since being appointed in the Spanish capital.
Isco was the third top scorer in the competition as Spain retained their title, while the youngster was also voted on to the Team of the Tournament.
