How the Citizens fared in a tough game at the Nou Camp.
Despite the valiant efforts from Manchester City in their Champions League last-16 second-leg with Barcelona, goals from Lionel Messi and Dani Alves eventually settled the tie.
The Citizens started strongly at the Nou Camp and looked good, although Barca eventually came out on top.
Here’s how the City players rated.
Joe Hart – 7
Could do nothing about Messi or Alves’ goals and other than that the England No.1 was solid, making sharp saves to deny the Argentine and Xavi earlier in the game.
Pablo Zabaleta – 5
An odd night for the Argentina international, who looked good going forwards but struggled to shackle Andres Iniesta and was sent off late on for a second booking for dissent.
Vincent Kompany – 8
A strong performance from the captain, with the Belgian being the shining light in was a shaky display by the City back four and even getting a consolation goal late on.
Joleon Lescott – 5
Early on it became clear that the Englishman was going to struggle with the pace of Messi and Neymar and was second best all night – Matija Nastasic is needed back urgently.
Aleksandar Kolarov – 6
As usual was always willing to go forward, but a mixture of poor crossing and defending contributed to a bad first half, but the Serbian rallied after half-time and improved as the game went on.
