Manuel Pellegrini reportedly harbours concerns over the England no. 1.
Manchester City are plotting to replace Joe Hart with unsettled Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
The Express claim City boss Manuel Pellegrini is keeping a close eye on developments at the Bernabeu after Casillas was left on the bench once again by new Madrid chief Carlo Ancelotti for the La Liga win over Granada on Monday.
Arsenal are also keen on the 149-times capped Spain captain, who is said to be considering his future in the Spanish capital and could seek a move to reinforce his position as the number one for his country ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next year.
That could open the door for a move to the Etihad Stadium with rumours implying Pellegrini wants to bring in an experienced ‘keeper after seeing Hart make two costly blunders in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Cardiff, and Casillas fits the bill.
However, the Chilean has insisted that his team selection will be based on form and not reputation and that philosophy could potential scupper a move for 32-year-old, who is unwilling to move unless he is guaranteed to be first-choice, which could also put Arsene Wenger off stepping up his interest.
