City have agreed terms to sign Sagna.
Manchester City have agreed terms with Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna to sign him as a free-agent before the World Cup begins in June, reports the Daily Star.
The 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of this month, and despite having recently won the FA Cup with the Gunners, the French defender does not want to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium after not being given a good enough new deal by the North Londoners.
City have reportedly taken advantage of the situation to offer Sagna a bumper three-year deal at £140,000 per week.
The Citizens have, as a result, offered the versatile full-back double the wages he was being offered in the English capital and a long-term deal that the former Auxerre man was desperate for.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini believes that the experienced Sagna could provide very good cover for the English champions in the right-back and centre-back roles.
