The Nerazzurri look set to miss out on Mohamed Salah with the Egyptian likely to remain in Florence, and so their attention has switched to the Manchester City star who has endured a tough time since moving to England.
Jovetic failed to secure a regular spot in the starting line-up last season, while his overall progress and ability to settle has been thwarted by injury issues.
As a result, it looks as though he will be on the move this summer and will return to Italy where he initially became a significant threat with Fiorentina.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Montenegrin international’s agent will meet with Inter officials on Wednesday to discuss a deal, and early suggestions are that they don’t envisage there being any problems arising.
Nevertheless, both Roma and Juventus have previously been interested in the former Viola star, and they may well come in with late bids to rival that of Inter as they all look to strengthen their respective squads ahead of next season.
