A club insider revealed that Manuel Pellegrini had to step in to try to calm the pair, but Kompany ignored the orders of his boss, and suffered the consequences in being dropped to the bench on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Fernandinho wasn’t even named in the squad.
Such news is sure to delight Chelsea fans, as they head into the final fixtures of the league at the top of the table, and with the chance to go eight points clear.
The Belgium captain has been incredible for the Citizens in recent seasons – leading the side to two Premier League titles – yet this season has been poor from the 28-year-old, with this latest scandal throwing his future into doubt.
