With Milner’s contract at the Etihad Stadium set to expire and the midfielder refusing to commit to a new deal, the 29 year old has told club colleagues that he expects to leave Manuel Pellegrini’s side at the end of the season, reports CaughtOffside.
AS Roma and Inter Milan have expressed interest, yet the England international is said to prefer to remain in the Premier League.
The Reds have been described as the ideal destination that would suit both the player and the club, and particularly with the departure of club legend Gerrard to come in the summer, Milner could be an excellent acquisition.
After all, the midfielder would be available on a free – what could go wrong?
