Man City fans delighted as Sergio Aguero elects to stay at Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has signed a new contract to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The Argentina international striker will forever be a hero amongst the blue half of Manchester thanks to his astonishing last minute goal against Queens Park Rangers to win the Citizens the Premier League title last season, and is now set to remain with the club until 2017.
“I’m very happy at City and I feel very appreciated,” Aguero told the official Man City website.
It’s been barely two years since I’ve arrived and sometimes I feel like I’ve been here for all my life.
“I have a fantastic relationship with the fans, and that always reminds me of our title and that goal against QPR. I can never forget that moment.
“Now I am looking forward to next season and pushing hard to win the title again.”
Aguero has scored 47 goals in 87 games since moving to Eastlands, and his quality was evident ever since he came off the bench to score two brilliant strikes on his debut.
Two knee injuries and a hamstring complaint saw him miss large chunks of the current season, but he still contributed 17 goals to his team’s cause.
Manchester City fans will be delighted that their top players are committing their future to the club despite no manager being in place for next season.
