Talented youngster Guidetti is added to the Potteries setup.
Stoke City have made their first signing of the January transfer window by snapping up highly rated Manchester City striker John Guidetti on-loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old joined the club’s youth academy back in 2007 when Sven-Goran Eriksson was in charge of the Citizens, but has since made just one appearance.
However, Guidetti did enjoy a successful loan spell with Feyenoord back in the 2011/12 campaign and netted 20 goals in 23 matches for the Dutch club.
Unfortunately the forward spent much of last year out of action due to a knee injury, but underwent surgery in the summer and is now ready to make an impression at Stoke.
Potteries manage Mark Hughes knows the Sweden international well having managed Guidetti for a season whilst in charge of City in 2008/09.
The attacker will also join former team-mate Stephen Ireland at the Britannia Stadium – with the midfielder on-loan as well, from Aston Villa.
