Italian international had been expected to make switch to Premier League this summer.
Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo has returned to pre-season training with the club, but there are still major doubts over his future in the Italian capital according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 27-year-old was absent on the first day of training at Trigoria on Tuesday, with his partner taking to Twitter to reveal that the pair were in Chicago.
With doubts surrounding his future at the club, it had been expected that the striker would have sealed a move elsewhere by now, however there has been a delay in his exit.
Both Tottenham and Manchester City have been interested in taking the former Espanyol marksman to England, although at this stage it is unclear as to where he will end up as he joins new coach Rudi Garcia for the time being.
Osvaldo has had numerous problems with the Giallorossi over the past year, from punching team-mate Erik Lamela to publicly criticising former coach Aurelio Andreazzoli at the end of last season, it is understood that the club are eager to part ways.
The players were greeted with a great amount of hostility on Tuesday, with Miralem Pjanic caught on camera being insulted as he drove away from the training ground.
The fans that were present are understood to still have a great deal of anger towards the squad following their defeat in the Coppa Italia final to bitter city rivals Lazio last season. Coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the futures of the likes of Osvaldo and Daniele De Rossi, there are more questions than answers as Garcia prepares for his first season at the helm.
