Jovetic just days away from confirming move to City according to Italian media.
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that the agent of Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic told him a year ago that his client wanted a switch to England.
The 23-year-old is widely expected to leave Florence this summer, with reports in the Italian media suggesting that a deal with Manchester City is imminent.
Despite the arrival of the likes of Joaquin and Mario Gomez, Jovetic has not been convinced to stay as he searches for a new challenge elsewhere, and he looks to have been granted his wish of plying his trade in England.

De Laurentiis noted that he spoke to Jovetic’s agent last year, and was told that he would not be interested in joining Napoli as he has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.
The Montenegrin international has been regarded as one of the brightest stars of Serie A over the past two seasons, as his goals helped the club to the verge of a place in the Champions League last term.
However, some believe he has failed to reach the same level of performance he produced prior to an injury he suffered two years ago, and as a result the Viola fans have had their disappointment at his decision to leave reduced particularly with the arrival of replacements.
Giuseppe Rossi joined the club in January and is now fully fit after recovering from a knee injury, while Joaquin and Gomez are likely to play vital roles alongside Adem Ljajic as the Viola look to continue to improve.
There has yet to be any official confirmation from either party over Jovetic’s expected move to Manchester, but De Laurentiis’ revelation further strengthens the speculation that he will now seal his dream move.
