Negredo does not want to leave the Etihad.
Manchester City’s Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo does not want to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The 28-year old centre-forward, who was believed to be homesick last season, seems to have settled in a bit more in Manchester, and now wants to add to his trophies with the English champions.
“I don’t want to leave City. I’m very happy and very settled here,” the former Sevilla man was quoted by talkSPORT.
“I had a difficult end to the season and that’s why there has been a lot of talking, but I’ve been very happy here from the first day I arrived.”
Negredo scored goals with seamless ease when he first signed for the Citizens last season, but he hit a goal drought in the second half of the campaign, which fuelled speculation that the forward could be heading back to Spain this summer.
However, the reassurances given by Negredo will come as good news for the Man City management, who might see the physically imposing striker as very important to their cause next season.
Negredo netted an impressive 23 goals in 48 games in all competitions last season, of which just nine came from 32 Premier League games.
