Cardiff manager Solskjaer says Zaha has immense potential.
Cardiff City boss and Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Red Devils loanee Wilfried Zaha can be as good as Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Zaha secured a loan switch to the Bluebirds until the end of the season on transfer deadline day and the manager is clearly overjoyed with the signing.
“He is one of the best I have seen with the ball,” Solskjaer was quoted by the Mirror.
“He has quick feet and is brave like Cristiano and wants to go forward.
“But he has got to make a decision about how good does he want to be and how much does he love this game. He can grow up to become a proper player like Ronaldo if he wants.”
The 21-year-old was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last ever signing as United manager after purchasing the winger from Crystal Palace for £15m in January 2013.
However, David Moyes seems less keen on Zaha and the England international made just four appearances before making the move to Cardiff.
Being compared to Ronaldo is perhaps the highest compliment a player such as the Englishman can be given, considering the Madrid forward is a two-time Ballon d’Or winner and is considered to be one of United’s greatest ever players.
The 28-year-old scored 117 goals in 290 matches during six years at Old Trafford, before making a then world record £80m switch to the Spanish capital.
Since then Ronaldo has grown in talent and has an astonishing record of 233 goals in 229 appearances for Los Blancos.
