The Colombian international, on a season-long loan at Old Trafford from AS Monaco, has since unfollowed the Spanish giants but will no doubt be attracting speculation now after this strange decision.
Falcao has not had the best of times at United since joining in the summer, scoring only four goals in total in all competitions and looking a shadow of the player he was at Atletico Madrid and Porto.
It now seems unlikely that United would want to keep the 29-year-old on a permanent deal, which could put other top clubs on alert after his previously looking like one of the best strikers in the world.
Falcao shone in La Liga with Atletico and a move to Real could make sense for him as the next step in his career.
