The forward is suffering with a combination of problems to the 30-year-old’s toe and groin, an issue which forced Van Persie off the pitch with 30 minutes left to play on Sunday.
In that match the attacker netted the only goal of the game to beat the player’s former side Arsenal at Old Trafford, but injuries have been an unwanted theme this campaign.
Van Persie has been forced to miss important clashes with Liverpool and Norwich City in the Premier League and Real Sociedad in the Champions League as a result.
Many believe that it is new United manager David Moyes’ archaic training methods that has seen the Netherlands international become more susceptible to injury.
Either way the Scot will be hoping that Van Persie has recovered in time to play the Red Devils’ next game against Cardiff City on November 24.
