Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo have reported that the agent of Arda Turan has dismissed speculation linking his client with a move to Barcelona, insisting that the Turkish winger is happy with life at Atletico Madrid.
Some media outlets had been reporting that Barcelona were in talks with Turan about a possible transfer to the side that Atletico narrowly beat to the La Liga title last season, but it appears that this is not the case.
This could reopen the door for Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal, both of whom have been reported as being keen on Turan in the past.
Perhaps second only in his influence to Diego Costa on Atletico as a team going forward, industrious and tricky winger Turan missed out on the Champions League final against rivals Real Madrid after limping out of the La Liga decider at the Nou Camp.
The 27 year-old arrived at Atletico in 2011 after making over 100 appearances for Turkish giants Galatasaray, whilst he has also gone on to amass 72 caps for his country so far.
Turkey’s failure to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil means that Turan has plenty of time off to consider his future, however, with his next contract likely to be the most lucrative and important of his career.
Both United and Arsenal are believed to be looking to strengthen their squads this summer after disappointing league campaigns in 2013/14, with the latter keen for more wide players to arrive at the club after the disruption caused by a serious injury to Theo Walcott.
