The German international has been strongly linked as a top target for both Manchester United and Arsenal in recent times, and it now looks as though the two clubs could be alerted by his desire to play in England.
When asked about his future, Howedes said: “If I am to leave Schalke one day, I do not want to move clubs within the Bundesliga.
“Schalke is too close to my heart to do so. But a move abroad at a certain time would be worth an experience.
“England would be my goal.”
