Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal has promised to go for a drink with legendary former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, reports the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman was appointed yesterday, and will take charge after he leads Holland at the World Cup this summer in Brazil.
“I will certainly go for a drink with him,” Van Gaal, who replaces David Moyes, said on Dutch TV.
“I’ve often done it before. We are like each other, I always put more pressure on myself than other people do,” he added.
In order to fix United’s fortunes, LVG has been promised a £200m transfer war chest, and he reckosn he can claim the title in his first season with the Old Trafford club.
“[the aims is that we are] back as soon as possible at spot number one, (that) they (fans) will think they are champions of England again within a year.
“Spain saw me succeed in my first year and in Germany as well. In England, it must also be possible.
“But there can only be one champion. I would be proud if it works right away.”
