Manchester United have revealed their squad for the upcoming Champions League season, and goalkeeper David de Gea has been included despite the player’s recent controversial non-transfer to Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils have decided to move forward with de Gea and exclude Victor Valdes from their Champions League roster.
New striker Anthony Martial will also be included on the 26-man squad shortly after being sold by Monaco for £36m.
Valdes has fallen out of favour with manager Louis van Gaal after just half a season at Old Trafford, and was unable to seal a starting berth despite de Gea’s transfer rumours.
He made only two appearances last season, as de Gea kept a stranglehold on the No. 1 jersey.

De Gea has had his share of issues with the Man United boss too, as he was supposed to transfer to Real Madrid.
The Red Devils planned on selling the Spanish international to Bernabeu for £29m and goalkeeper Keylor Navas. However, a late fax machine submission caused the deal to be blocked, as the paperwork was submitted one minute past the transfer deadline.
The 24-year-old goalie is expected to be reinstated on the Man United squad, but it remains to be seen whether he can retake the starting job from Sergio Romero.
