Red Devils receive major boost in midfielder chase.
Manchester United may have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign AS Roma star Kevin Strootman this January, according to the Independent.

The Red Devils are known to be long-time admirers of the Dutchman, and it seems that they may have a chance of signing him for cheaper than his £79m asking price after Roma’s exit from the Champions League.
Manchester City’s 2-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico last night puts Rudi Garcia’s side out of the tournament, and it has previously been suggested that Strootman could leave if they miss out on the knockout stages.
United are now expected to step up their interest in the 24-year-old, and Roma may struggle to stop him making the move to Old Trafford.
