Transfer BLOW for Arsenal & Man United as top striker target given HUGE £67m price tag
The Red Devils are expected to offer him a £17.8m transfer deal, and he is reportedly distancing himself from Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old midfielder helped lead Bayern Munich to the 2014-15 Bundesliga title while scoring five goals with four assists.
Schweinsteiger also helped lead Germany to the 2014 World Cup title, so his championship pedigree would undoubtedly prove useful for Manchester United.
Man United boss Louis van Gaal proclaimed that he expects his team to win the 2015-16 Premier League title when speaking on his pursuit of defenders Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos.
Despite finishing in fourth place in the 2014-15 season, this may be a perfectly realistic goal if they can land someone with veteran and championship experience like Schweinsteiger.
However, it will not be easy to lure Schweinsteiger away from Germany as he has played for Bayern Munich since 2002, and he was advised by former Bayern Munich star Franz Beckenbauer to stay in Germany for a couple more years.
