Manchester United could give forward Javier Hernandez to Valencia on loan to secure a permanent deal for Argentine anchorman Ever Banega, reports the Mirror.
United fans have been crying out for midfield reinforcements, and manager David Moyes is expected to enter the transfer market this January to make sure his side finish in the top four come the end of the season.
Following United’s victory over Swansea on Saturday, Moyes’ men sit four points behind fourth placed Everton, and are desperate to improve during the second half of the season to secure a Champions League spot next season.
Banega is a 25-year-old cultured midfielder, who sits deep and dictates play in La Liga. He’s won 24 caps for his country, and has been an ever present when available for Valencia this season.
The Spanish club are known to be interested in Hernandez, who has only started four matches this term, and is keen to play the regular first-team football his talent deserves.
United currently have Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney out injured, meaning loaning out Hernandez to secure Banega would be risky, but young Englishman Danny Welbeck is playing very well up top in the world-class duos absence.
