David Moyes has joined the race for Julian Draxler…
Manchester United are interested in Schalke playmaker Julian Draxler, and could rival Arsenal for the prodigal young German’s signature, reports the Mirror.
The 20-year-old midfielder is currently out injured, but it’s thought that one of the Premier League giants will meet his £37m release clause to enter talks with him this January.
Draxler is extremely talented, and can beat opposing fullbacks with his excellent dribbling ability. He can also slice open a defence with intricate through-balls, and is deceptively strong and good in the air.
It has been rumoured that Arsenal want to convert the attacking midfielder into a striker, much like they did with Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie in the past, but United would likely deploy him in his natural wide position, with Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and RVP as striker options.
Before Sunday’s Premier League match with Chelsea, United were 14 points off top placed Arsenal, and fans are desperate for reinforcements. Arsenal on the other hand are enjoying a brilliant season, but with Chelsea and Manchester City breathing down their necks, they could bring in a star player to strengthen their title push.
