Red Devils are keen to bolster their options in midfield for the next campaign.
Premier League champions Manchester United could be about to make a surprise move for Atletico Nacional attacker Juan Fernando Quintero at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The highly-rated Colombia international is currently spending a season-long loan with Serie A minnows Pescara, where he has reportedly made a big impression, with both champions Juventus and Inter Milan also believed to be interested in signing the player when the transfer window reopens for business once again on 1 June.
Quintero, 20, has featured in 14 matches for Pescara to date in this campaign, finding the back of the net on just the one occasion, and his impressive form while out in Italy also resulted in the attacking left-sided midfield player winning his first-ever call-up to the Colombia national team last year.
And with new Manchester United boss David Moyes, who will replace Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of this season, will surely be on the look-out for a player to take over from either Paul Scholes or Luis Nani in midfield at Old Trafford next season.
Nani is likely to leave Manchester after reaching stalemate in his contract negotiations with the club, while 38-year-old Scholes has perhaps one more season left as a Premier League player.
