Red Devils are understood to want to add more bodies to midfield next season.
New Manchester United manager David Moyes is keen to bring FC Barcelona midfield player Cesc Fabregas to Old Trafford this summer, according to reports in the Daily Express.
The hugely talented Spain international has only been at Camp Nou for two years now, having joined the Catalan giants from Arsenal in a deal worth £35 million in the summer of 2011.
However, the 26-year-old has found it hard to nail down a regular starting berth in the Barca midfield, having to fight with the likes of fellow Spaniards Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets.
As a result, the playmaker has spent large parts of his Barcelona career to date warming the substitutes’ bench, although Fabregas has still managed to contribute ten goals and 11 assists in just 30 Liga contests to date this season as the club have regained their championship crown from arch-rivals Real Madrid.
And Moyes is therefore hopeful of being able to persuade the player to swap Barcelona for Manchester when the transfer window reopens later this summer.
