Top-flight leaders keen to offload unsettled wide man.
Manchester United are believed to be interested in exchanging Luis Nani for Porto midfield player James Rodriquez at the end of the season, according to reports in the Metro.
United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson has lost patience with his Portugal international winger of late, who has barely featured at all for the Premier League leaders this season, while in turn the player himself is now understood to want to leave Old Trafford to undertake a new challenge in his career having failed to be offered the big-money contract that he had been asking the club for all this campaign.
Ferguson is believed to have already contacted senior officials at the Dragao to enquire about the possibility to doing a swap deal involving the two players, although the Portuguese league leaders have already rejected one offer of £20 million for their highly-rated Colombia international from Serie A giants AC Milan.
The Red Devils are preparing to undergo a major squad overhaul this summer, with the likes of Nani, captain Patrice Evra and Bebe all being moved on to pastures new, and players such as 20-year-old Rodriquez and recently-signed Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha arriving at the club to replace those departing.
