Dutchman has been a regular in Eindhoven for the past two years now.
New Manchester United head coach David Moyes wants to make PSV Eindhoven midfield player Kevin Strootman his first signing at Old Trafford, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The highly-rated Netherlands international has been with the Eredivisie giants for the past two seasons, having joined PSV from fellow Dutch outfit Utrecht in 2011.
And in the intervening two-year period, the 23-year-old has appeared in 62 matches in all competitions for PSV, managing to find the back of the net on seven occasions in the process.
As a result, Moyes is understood to now be keen to bring the player, who has been capped 18 times by his country since making his international bow in 2011, netting one goal during that time, to the north west when the transfer window finally swings open into action once again on July 1.
Strootman has a contract with PSV that runs until June 30 2016, though, and so will not be cheap for the Red Devils to purchase this summer.
