Van Gaal switches focus to San Siro dynamo.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will consider a move to sign Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin after giving up hope of bringing in Arturo Vidal, according to the Daily Star.
The Red Devils have been on the hunt for a new top class signing in midfield all summer, but have so far failed in their efforts to bring in the likes of Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger and now Vidal as talks between themselves and Juventus have stalled.
Guarin may now be United’s top target, though they will likely face competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus for his signature this summer.
The Colombian international has been a top performer in Serie A down the years, and could prove a decent alternative to Vidal, though this latest development caps another frustrating transfer window for the club after last year’s struggles.
