Red Devils want £15 million rated Rodriguez to replace Juventus bound Evra.
Manchester United could ramp up their efforts to sign Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez to replace their Juventus bound veteran Patrice Evra, reports the Daily Express.
The Red Devils have already made 18-year old England starlet Luke Shaw their first choice left-back after having acquired him for £27 million from Southampton, but new boss Louis van Gaal now wants to get in a competitor to the youngster, who could take some time to settle into the big time at Old Trafford.
Rodriguez has emerged as a worthy backup after his good showing at the 2014 World Cup, but it would be interesting to see whether the Red Devils would not hesitate to spend a sizeable £15 million fee for another left-back.
Liverpool also want Rodriguez as part of the solution to their left-back crisis, which would not make it easy for the Red Devils to land their man as their arch rivals can guarantee him Champions League football this season.
