Los Blancos want Wayne Rooney to team up with Cristiano Ronaldo once again…

With Sergio Aguero proving too ambitious a target, Real Madrid will instead turn to Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney next summer, the Telegraph reports.
United’s English forward has been their best player when available this season, scoring and assisting nine goals apiece, but his failure to commit himself to the club means the Spanish giants will try and lure him after the World Cup.
Potential striker targets such as Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and City’s Aguero have signed bumper new deals, and following last summer’s £85m Gareth Bale signing, Los Blancos do not want to have shell out another ludicrous transfer fee.
Rooney’s contract expires in 2015, and although his club are eager to discuss new terms, the 28-year-old is unsure of his future, especially as United may not be playing Champions League football next term.
If Rooney were to move to Spain, he would link up again with Cristiano Ronaldo, who he played with at Old Trafford before Real Madrid broke the world transfer record to secure the Portuguese.
The thought of an attacking trio of Rooney, Ronaldo and Bale will strike fear into the rest of Europe, without even mentioning the likes of Isco, Benzema and Di Maria.
For United though, selling Rooney could be a catalyst for their further demise.
