Manchester United could sign Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado for just £25m after the Serie A club lowered their demands for the player, according to the Times.
It had previously been reported that it would take a bid of around £36m to persuade the Italian side to sell their star player, who has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich this summer.
Still, United now look to be in a good position to bring in the talented and versatile 26-year-old, who can play in a variety of attacking midfield roles or as a wing-back, which is where he may be best utilised in Louis van Gaal’s 3-5-2 formation this season.
A move for a player of Cuadrado’s quality for just £25m would have to go down as one of the bargains of the summer, with the fee being the same as Liverpool paid for Adam Lallana, and £5m less than United paid for teenage left-back Luke Shaw.
