Benzema remains a regular starter in Carlo Ancelotti’s team at the Bernabeu, but his star does not shine quite as brightly as that of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, which has led to consistent reports that the club would look to replace him with a player with an even bigger reputation.
The 27 year-old former Lyon forward is said to be rated at around £40 million, a fee that is likely to be more than affordable for United if they choose not to make Radamel Falcao’s loan move to Old Trafford from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco a permanent one at the end of the season.
