Manchester United star could make surprise England return
The Red Devils have found themselves short up from this season with Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao hit by both injuries and bad form. Captain Wayne Rooney has had to shoulder the burden in the last few weeks, and has performed admirably in the role.
However, Louis van Gaal is still keen to bring in some more cover in the position, especially with Falcao potentially leaving the team in the summer. Firmino could be a good option, having scored 34 goals in 121 appearances at just 23-years-old. He has also netted once in two matches for Brazil.
It could cost United £30 million to bring the striker, who can also play ‘in the hole’, to the club as he is so highly rated by his current side. It is unknown whether the club hierarchy are willing to part with this much to sign the player.
