After impressing with Sevilla in La Liga the Croatia international was signed by Barca over the summer for around £14m, but since then has failed to establish himself at the Nou Camp.
Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Xavi are all ahead of Rakitic for a place in head coach Luis Enrique’s starting XI and the 26-year-old could be leaving Catalonia sooner than expected.
