Former Manchester United star Andrei Kanchelskis has slammed the club’s performances under Louis van Gaal, adding that Sir Alex Ferguson is unhappy with the performances as well, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Russian, who played for United between 1991 and 1995, believes the team is not playing good football under the Dutchman, paying particular attention to the recent 1-0 home defeat to Southampton.
“With Louis van Gaal in charge they will not become champions for another ten years,” he said.
“I don’t understand the type of football he is instilling into his players. I don’t fancy their chances with him in charge – they aren’t going to compete with Chelsea and Manchester City.
“They looked awful (against the Saints). Seventy-five thousand people came to the stadium to watch but they were an embarrassment. I felt sorry for the fans.”
The 45-year-old also revealed Ferguson was ‘very upset’ after that match.
“Afterwards he was very upset,” he added.
“United’s players from 1993 – the likes of Paul Ince, Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes, Peter Schmeichel, Ryan Giggs – would be tearing their hair out.”
