The finest Red Devils stars to ever grace the game.

As one the most recognisable and successful football clubs in history, Manchester United have certainly had some of the best players in the world over the years.

Here are the top 10:

10. Cristiano Ronaldo (2003-2009)

A skinny teenager that did too many step-overs became the best player on the planet during six years at Old Trafford, eventually being sold to Real Madrid for a world record £80m.

9. Paul Scholes (1993-2013)

A modest and shy man who was one of best midfielders to have ever played the game, influencing the likes of world-class superstars such as Xavi and Andrea Pirlo.

8. Denis Law (1962-1973)

Part of the trio of superstars at United that made them the best club in the world under legendary manager Sir Matt Busby, winning the European Cup or the first time in 1968.

7. Bryan Robson (1981-1994)

Was coming towards the end of a brilliant career for club and country when Sir Alex Ferguson took charge, but helped guide the team to successive Premier League titles in the early 1990s.

6. Duncan Edwards (1953-1958)

Regarded as the finest United and England captain that never was, as the supremely talented Edwards tragically died in the Munich air disaster of 1958, that claimed eight players’ lives.

5. Peter Schmeichel (1991-1999)

One of the first foreign footballers to really dominate the English game, many regard Schmeichel as the greatest goalkeeper of all time and was between the sticks during the treble-winning year of 1999.

4. Eric Cantona (1992-1997)

Without the Frenchman Ferguson may not have had as much success at United, with the elusive and charismatic forward guiding the team to four titles in five years.

3. Ryan Giggs (1990-present)

The epitome of a one club player and a truly brilliant servant to the cause, picking up 13 league titles, four FA Cups and two Champions Leagues, as well as 860 appearances to date.

2. Sir Bobby Charlton (1956-1973)

One of the few players that’s won it all, with league titles, the European Cup and the World Cup with England, Chalrton is still involved at his beloved Old Trafford to this day.

1. George Best (1963-1974)

The man described by Pele as the greatest player of all time, Best was supremely talented and was also a party boy off the pitch – the consequences of which led to the Northern Irishman’s death in 2005 at the age of 59.
