Belgium has been on Merseyside since 2008.
New Manchester United manager David Moyes wants to make Everton midfield player Marouane Fellaini his first signing at Old Trafford when he replaces Sr Alex Ferguson in the Red Devils dug-out later this summer, says the Daily Mirror.
Moyes was announced as Ferguon’s successor on a six-year contract on Thursday afternoon, with the Scot expected to commence his duties with the recently-crowned Premier League champions as early as 1 July.
And the former Preston North End boss is expected to bring the tall Belgium international with him to the north west in a deal worth £23 million, which is the value of the 25-year-old’s buyout clause in his current contract at Goodison Park.
Fellaini’s deal at present runs until the end of May 2016, however, it contains a breakout clause that allows any team competing in the UEFA Champions League to sign the player ahead of that time for £23m.
And so it appears as though the shaggy-haired attacker, who has scored an impressive 32 goals in just 171 appearances for the Toffees in a five-year career to date, could now be lining up in the red of United next season.
