United offered the chance to sign Argentine star for knock-down price.Manchester United’s summer spending could reach £100m as they ponder a move to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, according to the Daily Star.
The Red Devils have reportedly been offered the chance to sign the Argentine World Cup star for a knock-down price of just £40m as Madrid seem intent on raising funds for his sale to target other big-name signings.
The likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the talented 26-year-old, who enjoyed a superb run of form in 2013/14, scoring 11 goals and laying on 26 assists to help his side to glory in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
With United already spending big on the signings of Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao and Luke Shaw from Southampton, a £40m deal for Di Maria would take their spending for the summer to the £100m mark.
After a disastrous seventh-place finish in the Premier League under David Moyes, new manager Louis van Gaal has clearly been given the money required to make major changes to the squad at Old Trafford.
