Red Devils won’t pay over the odds for midfielder.
Manchester United may be requiring a favour from local rivals Manchester City to help them sign one of their top midfield targets this January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils have long been linked with a move for Dutch playmaker Kevin Strootman, who is valued at £60m by his club AS Roma in the upcoming transfer window.
However, United don’t want to pay that and hope to land him for around half the price, with an early exit from the Champions League for Rudi Garcia’s side likely to help their cause.
With City playing Roma in their final game of the group, they could help knock the Italians out and boost United’s pursuit of Strootman.
