Red Devils determined to secure the signing of midfielder Kevin Strootman.
Manchester United appear determined to secure the signing of long term midfield target Kevin Strootman once the transfer window reopens, with Calcio Mercato reporting that the Red Devils are set to launch a £31 million opening bid for the highly rated AS Roma star.

Strootman is a player who is hugely admired by United manager Louis van Gaal, who was building his Netherlands side around the steely playmaker before an injury cruelly ruled him out of the World Cup – sparking van Gaal’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation.
Roma are well aware of the quality of Strootman, however, and will be keen to ensure that he remains at the Stadio Olimpico for the foreseeable future – meaning that United’s opening bid may well be rebuffed.
