Red Devils target PSG’s Uruguayan sensation…

Manchester United are happy to shell out £50m plus Portuguese winger Nani for PSG forward Edinson Cavani, reports the Mirror.
The striker moved to the Ligue 1 champions last summer for £57m from Napoli, and although he’s largely impressed in France, there are rumours that he’s unsatisfied at being deployed predominantly from the right, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic starting centrally when everyone’s fit.
In the French top flight and Champions League combined, he’s notched 19 goals so far this term.
Portuguese winger Nani signed a five year contact at the start of the season, but has barely featured this term, and is thought to be surplus to requirements.
As a result, David Moyes could use him as bait to tempt PSG into parting with the 27-year-old Uruguayan, although it’s unknown whether the winger would interest Laurent Blanc’s outfit.
United currently have Robin van Persie as their first-choice centre-forward, but the Dutchman is in his thirties, and has struggled badly this season with injuries. Cavani however, is in his prime, and would signal the intent of last season’s Premier League champions.
The fact United are almost certain not to be playing Champions League football next season though may harm their chances of signing him.
The signing would potentially break the British transfer record, set by Chelsea, who snapped up Fernando Torres for £50m in 2011.
