United receive major boost as long-term target returns.
Manchester United could have an eye on AS Roma’s reserve team this weekend as long-term target Kevin Strootman makes his long-awaited return from injury, the Times reports.

The Dutch international has been linked as one of United’s top targets for several months now, and his return to action could see talk of January move spark up again.
Although Louis van Gaal signed a number of new midfielders during the summer, Strootman could still add something to this squad, particularly if the likes of Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini leave in the winter as well.
Van Gaal knows Strootman well from his time with the Netherlands national team, and may be ready to pay big money to bring him to Old Trafford.
