Barca are said to be making one last effort to convince player to remain at the club.
Manchester United are still not certain whether or not skilful FC Barcelona midfield player Thiago Alcantara will be departing the Catalans in order to move to Old Trafford this summer or not, says The Times.
The Premier League champions have been keeping close tabs on the hugely talented Spain international for some time now, with a view to signing the 22-year-old during the transfer window, which reopens on July 1.
Alcantara has a contract at Camp Nou that runs until June 30 2015, however, that deal also has a reported buyout clause in it valued at £18m that can be activated by any potential suitor, although the Red Devils are keen for the youngster to actually ask for a transfer away from Barca this summer in order to make the negotiating process easier.
However as yet the attacking midfield player, who has scored 11 goals in his 101 appearances for the Liga champions since making his debut for the Spaniards in the 2008-09 campaign, has refused to agitate for a move away and until that happens United will be left in a state of limbo.
