David de Gea: 8/10
A terrific double save at 1-0 was crucial to United’s progress. The Spaniard commanded his area well and was brave at set pieces.
Rafael: 7/10
Full of industrious running up the right flank and he defended well.
Patrice Evra: 6/10
A silly second half booking will rule the Frenchman out of the quarter final and he was slow getting back twice in the first half, which led to promising Olympiacos openings. He attacked well, as ever, but on balance, this wasn’t good enough.
Phil Jones: 7/10
Beaten for pace too easily by Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell on more than one occasion in the first half but he was much improved in the second and won some crucial headers as the visitors piled on the pressure late on.
Rio Ferdinand: 7/10
A much improved performance from the veteran, who was dreadful in the first leg but proved tonight he still has a part to play in the run-in.
