Back in a familiar role up front, having served his stint in midfield for now. Touch was erratic but drops into the no. 10 role well and was a creative presence.
Robin van Persie: 5
Looks a shadow of the player who played under Sir Alex Ferguson, plenty of wayward shots and was generally poor.
Subs:
Antonio Valencia: 5
Got forward well but was too hesitant when in the right positions.
Ashley Young: 6
Brought some much needed width to the side and his delivery was dangerous, didn’t have an effect on the final result though.
Juan Mata: 5
Didn’t have enough time to stamp his authority on the game, and struggled in an unfamiliar position.
