Red Devils interested in bringing Croatian schemer back to the top flight.
Runaway Premier League leaders Manchester United are said to be sizing up a possible end of season swoop for unsettled Real Madrid midfield player Luka Modric, reports the Metro.
The highly skilled Croatia international only arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Tottenham Hotspur last summer for a fee of £33 million, but the playmaker has found it hard to settle in the Spanish capital in the intervening period, starting very few games for the La Liga title holders, while also finding the back of the net for Los Blancos on just the two occasions.
However, one of those strikes did come in the second leg of Madrid’s crucial Champions League last 16 clash at Old Trafford last Tuesday night which helped to keep Jose Mourinho’s side in Europe’s premier club competition and it is skill like that which has alerted the attention of Red Devil head coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
