How the Red Devils will start against the Gunners.
It’s a huge match in the Premier League as reigning champions Manchester United head to title hopefuls Arsenal.
Both sides will be wanting to bounce back after disappointing results at the weekend, with the Gunners being hammered 5-1 by Liverpool and United drawing at home to bottom-placed Fulham.
Here’s how the Red Devils are likely to line-up (4-2-3-1):
Goalkeeper – David de Gea: Fairly self explanatory as the Spaniard is the undisputed No.1, despite some nervy moments against the Cottagers on Sunday.
Right-back – Chris Smalling: Rafael started at the weekend and got forward a lot, but to little success, and at the Emirates Stadium David Moyes is likely to opt for the more defensively sound Smalling.
Centre-back – Phil Jones: The England international missed out on Sunday due to injury, but should be available for this clash and will go straight back into the starting XI.
Centre-back – Nemanja Vidic: The captain announced this would be his last season at United last week and followed that up with a woeful display against Fulham, yet should retain his spot due to experience and the fact Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand are injured.
Left-back – Patrice Evra: Has been one of the English champions’ best players this term and combines defensive and attacking responsibilities well.
